Gratitude to Dalarna Authorities

In a Note Verbale to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden the Embassy has expressed profound gratitude of the Russian side to the Government of Sweden for the assistance rendered by the local authorities of Dalarna Province, in particular, the Governor, Ms Maria Norrfalk, to the Russian tourists who sustained injuries in the bus crash on January 3, 2008. The accident occurred near Gagnef, between Mora and Borlange, 240 km north-west of Stockholm.

It was emphasized that the police units, rescue services, fire and medical brigades of Dalarna have provided prompt, professional, effective and precious help to the people in trouble.

The concern about the accident on the part of the Minister, Mr Carl Bildt, who was enquiring about the health of the tourists and conveyed his sympathy and compassion in connection with the accident, is highly valued in Russia.
